• Refurbishment and Extension of Youth Hostel Building

Full refurbishment, extension and remodelling of the existing youth hostel at the foot of Snowdon. The works consisted of demolitions and stripping out of the existing building, replacement of all electrical and mechanical systems, drainage, repairs to and replacement of the existing roof and dormers as well as a full internal and external refurbishment. The works also included a full sewage treatment plant installation which would allow the new youth hostel to cope with increase numbers of visitors in such a remote location. This plant also serves the café, public toilets and wardens accommodation opposite the Youth Centre for the Snowdonia National Park Authority. This was a shared drainage scheme.

We were able to complete to works whilst exceeding client aspirations during the challenging winter period in the Snowdonia mountains. This project has been described by the YHA as one of the most successful projects undertaken by the association in recent years.
