The Project consisted of the construction of three new extensions to the School and an infilling of the existing Quad to form a practical area with natural lighting. The construction of new rooms was phased to prevent disruption to the school operations. The individual phases comprised of forming and closing off openings, installing new partitions, sanitary facilities, replacing floor, wall and ceiling finishes together with all associated mechanical and electrical modifications. We also carried out the licenced removal of asbestos containing materials.
The external works comprised of new drainage, soakaways, retaining walls, new footpaths including DDA access & soft play areas. The works were completed within the agreed Programme, whilst also carrying out additional works throughout the project. Demolition works and ACM removal were undertaken during school holiday and half term periods to minimise disruption to the school. As a large portion of the scheme was to be carried out during term time, a segregation strategy was required to minimise interface with school staff, pupils and the general public.
Prior to carrying out the works, we carried out a consultation period with the School Management to ensure that the segregation and phasing of the works was agreed and understood prior to the commencement of the work.
